1920's Fashion On Display For 3rd Annual Tweed Ride
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Some bicycle riders made a fashion statement through Philadelphia Saturday afternoon.
It was a parade of fashion on bicycles at the 3rd annual tweed ride:
"A bunch of hoity toity types with lovely tweed jackets and fancy tweed trousers on. I did me best. Came straight from work, got my coveralls," said one rider in a fake British accent.
"It looks like the 1920's to 1930's. It's fun. We're all wearing vintage clothing to ride our vintage bikes."
Organizer Steven Saxton says the tweed ride is a leisurely bike ride around the city.
"From here down to Center City and then down Pine and loop around City Hall and then up to Penn Treaty for picnicking and games and stuff and then the after party's at Memphis Tap Room."
But, the focus is clearly less on the biking and more on the outfits.
