12/11 CBS2 Sunday Evening Weather

By Mark McIntyre, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Let's get right to it - we have a wintry night ahead! Everything will be snow through the late evening as temps will be sufficiently cold enough to keep precipitation frozen. There will be a slight break in the action around midnight for most, with the most northwestern suburbs hanging onto snow. During the overnight, things change over to rain as temps rise.

Expect 3-6" when it's all said and done for the most outlying suburbs in the Catskills as far northwest New Jersey. Coating to 3" for much of the area closer to NYC Metro, and predominantly rain for the coasts. It'll be a soggy morning commute but things should wrap up before lunchtime.

Expect partial clearing Monday with highs near 50 degrees, and a sunny but cooler day on Tuesday with highs in the low 40s.

Have a great night & enjoy the storm!
