Donald Trump unveils positive second TV ad for air in IA, NH

Donald Trump on Friday released his second campaign advertisement that will begin airing in Iowa and New Hampshire, just a few weeks before voting begins in those two key states.

"We are going to take our country and we're going to fix it. We're going to make it great again," Trump says in the 30-second ad, which is a clip of him speaking at one of his recent rallies in Lowell, Massachusetts.

"We are going to fix our healthcare. We are going to take care of our vets. We are going to fix our military. We are going to strengthen our borders. We're going to build a wall," he said.

The ad is part of a $2 million buy with $1.1 million devoted to Iowa and nearly $1 million spent in New Hampshire.

This second ad is more positive than his more ominous first ad, which was released earlier this month. The first ad focused on his plan to block Muslims from entering the U.S. and on illegal immigration, and it also aired in Iowa and New Hampshire.

Released the morning after the sixth GOP presidential debate, the new ad comes out just a few weeks before Iowa holds its caucuses on Feb. 1 and New Hampshire holds its primary on Feb. 9.

While polls show Trump is still leading the Republican pack nationally, polls in Iowa indicate the race has tightened up there between Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Iowa. A Bloomberg Politics/Des Moines Register survey released Wednesday found 25 percent of likely GOP Iowa caucus goers back Cruz and 22 percent back Trump.
