This Week: Lotsa Love & A Little Hatin'

It was a wild and crazy week in celebrity-land. A couple that was married filed for divorce after four months (and as many wedding ceremonies), a popular rapper knocked one of the world's most beloved television stars, and three paparazzi favorites formed a deep bond possibly fueled by their shared distaste for underwear.

Oh and there's more, a lot more.

On Sunday, embattled comedian Michael Richards went on the Rev. Jesse Jackson's radio show to apologize for his hate-filled, racist tirade at a comedy club a week earlier. Jackson hoped Richards' appearance would open up a broader discussion about "cultural isolation" in the entertainment industry.

News surfaced this week that Jessica Simpson reportedly lost out on a big-time fashion ad campaign to Lindsay Lohan because of her attachment to chummy hairdresser Ken Paves. Apparently, Miu Miu had the singer in mind for their campaign, but the photographers nixed the idea. A source told the New York Post, "Most fashion photographers use their own people — and they certainly don't use Ken Paves, who is considered tacky and amateurish for high-fashion shoots. He's very 'Texas pageant hair.' "

Ouch!

2Richard Simmons made a return visit to the "Late Show with David Letterman" for the first time in six years. Simmons had been a guest on Letterman's show many times, but the last time he was on Letterman sprayed him with a fire extinguisher. This week's visit was relatively uneventful, except for Letterman setting Simmons' new food steamer on fire.

Speaking of feuds, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton have mended whatever fences needed mending and are now BFFs. Joining the love fest is newly-single Britney Spears. All three were hanging out together this week after a late night heart-to-heart where they worked out their differences.

Spears spent a lot of time out on the town this week, so much time that it seems like she was too busy to remember to put on her panties. She was caught by the paparazzi going commando more than once, prompting many to wonder if she's taking her newly-found freedom a bit too far.

But Spears' peek-a-boo antics weren't as much of a shocker as the announcement that Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock had filed for divorce. Anderson says she wants to resolve the divorce amicably and keep things out of the press to protect her children. The divorce announcement comes after only four months of a marriage that was honored in a series of four wedding ceremonies in Beverly Hills, Nashville, Saint Tropez and Detroit.

Hollywood sweetie-pie Hilary Duff, 19, and her boyfriend Joel Madden, 27, of Good Charlotte have reportedly split after a two year relationship. Their age difference is rumored to have been a factor in the split.

3Rapper 50 Cent lashed out at Oprah Winfrey this week, saying that the talk show queen "started out with black women's views but has been catering to middle-aged women white American women for so long that she's become one herself."

On a more upbeat note, "Desperate Housewives" star Eva Longoria and basketball pro Tony Parker are officially engaged. They plan to marry in 2007 in Parker's home country, France.

Hopefully, they'll stay together for a long time — at least longer than four months.
