Calming down
The streets of Ferguson were peaceful for another night Thursday, as protests and tensions were subsiding in the St. Louis suburb where unrest erupted after a white police officer fatally shot unarmed black teenager Michael Brown almost two weeks ago.
Parents' demand
Brown's parents told CBS News correspondent Mark Strassmann the reasons they want the police officer who killed their son to stand trial for murder.
Golf and politics
President Obama had been criticized this week for going on vacation as domestic and international issues heat up. CBS News' Major Garrett is traveling with the President and reports everypresidential vacation is a contradiction.
No bad press -- or not
Luckily for Texas Gov. Rick Perry, his indictment actually seems to have brought a wave of positive attention, giving him a bit of a boost among Republicans in critical early presidential primary states.
Blaming wife
By claiming to have a dysfunctional marriage, former Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell is hoping to bolster his argument that his wife kept him in the dark about some of the gifts the couple got. The two are charged with accepting more than $165,000 in gifts from a businessman and in return, using their positions to promote the donor's company.
Taxi wars
One thing Republicans and Democrats seem to agree on is their support for the Uber car service over traditional taxis. Republicans even have an online petition in support of Uber, and former top Obama strategist David Plouffe now works for the global car service. But will this bi-partisan support spark a backlash?
College credit
A question that will almost always come up when shopping and spending money with a teenager is this: What is the right age or time for a student to get his or her first credit card?
