Monday sees the annual Equality Now gala in New York, dedicated to protecting the rights of women and girls around the world.

        
Tuesday, of course, is All Hallows' Eve -- Halloween -- a night for ghosts, goblins, and trick-or-treating. 


            
Wednesday is World Vegan Day, raising awareness of animal rights and advocating the meat- and animal-product-free lifestyle.

 
Thursday's the night for the Critics' Choice Documentary Awards, hosted by magician Penn Jillette, honoring the best in documentaries.
