Wisconsin faith leaders volunteer as poll chaplains ahead of election
Clergy across Wisconsin are training to serve as poll chaplains, offering a “peaceful presence” and a friendly welcome to voters as Election Day approaches. The Wisconsin Council of Churches and its partners say the volunteers, who come from different faith traditions and political views, aim to bring a sense of security to their communities. They follow state guidelines and stay more than 100 feet from polling places.
