Minneapolis split on whether to decriminalize drug paraphernalia
There is little debate that people don't want drug needles littering sidewalks and yards. However, there is a big debate in Minneapolis about whether it should be illegal to possess needles and syringes. Some members of the City Council say arresting people carrying drug paraphernalia doesn't help the problem. They're following the lead of state lawmakers.
