Minn. Man Dies During Shipwreck Dive At Isle Royale Park

A 55-year-old man has died while scuba diving to a shipwreck at Isle Royale National Park in Lake Superior. Park officials say Lloyd W. Krohn of Wyoming, Minn., was among three divers planning to explore a Canadian cargo vessel called the Kamloops, which sank in 1927. Shortly after reaching their target depth of about 200 feet, the other divers noticed that Krohn was having trouble. They sent Krohn to the surface, where he was spotted by crew members with the charter boat they had taken. He was not breathing when pulled aboard.
