Woman Charged In Wright Co. Man's Death Reaches Deal With Prosecutors

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A woman charged in connection to the disappearance of a Wright County man last summer has reached a plea deal with prosecutors.

Gwen Butcher reached a deal with court officials on Monday in which she admitted guilt to a felony charge of obstructing an investigation into the death of 25-year-old Christopher Rossing.

As part of the deal, the other and more serious felony charges facing Butcher -- murder and kidnapping -– will be dropped. However, a judge must accept Butcher's plea at her sentencing, which has been slated for Jan. 28.

Meanwhile, Butcher's boyfriend, 28-year-old Robert Nuttall, is serving a 20-years prison sentence after pleading guilty in October to unintentionally murdering Rossing.

The two had been drinking last summer at a bar in Howard Lake. Nuttall says he killed Rossing in a subsequent roadside fight.

Months later, Rossing's remains were found near a fire pit on Nuttall's farm.
