Suspect Sought In White Bear Lake Bank Robbery

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities are looking for a suspect after a man robbed a bank in White Bear Lake late Tuesday morning.

The White Bear Lake Police Department responded to the Lake Area Bank at 1400 Highway 96 on a report of a robbery. Authorities say at about 11:19 a.m., a suspect entered the bank and approached an employee with a note demanding cash and implying that he had a gun. A weapon was not displayed, and other details about the incident are still under investigation.

The suspect fled the bank on foot and officers were unable to find him after an extensive search by several agencies.

Authorities say the suspect is described as a white male about 6 feet tall, 25 to 30 years old, heavy set and muscular. He was wearing a light colored long sleeve shirt with dark pants, a dark hat and large white-rimmed sunglasses. Anyone who can identify the suspect or with any information about the incident is asked to call the White Bear Lake Police Department at (651) 429-8511.
