WCCO Health Report Spurs State To Create Website
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A WCCO story about germs at indoor playgrounds has led to a new state resource for parents.
The report showed high levels of bacteria on every surface tested at three different indoor playgrounds.
That doesn't necessarily mean a child will get sick, but the higher the number of bacteria, the better the chance.
Republican State Senator Mary Kiffmeyer hoped to pass a bill regulating the cleaning of indoor playgrounds, and while it didn't go to a vote, but the Department of Health has created this web site.
The biggest lesson is simple -- wash your child's hands before and after they use the playground.
