Viking Fans Serenade Governor In Support Of Stadium

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- Looking rather tough, with painted faces and wearing full purple and gold gear, about a dozen Minnesota Viking fans from the group Viking World Order belted out "Skol" Vikings in front of Gov. Mark Dayton's office.

Sam Cooke said they want to give support and encourage all Vikings proponents who are in favor of the Arden Hills site.

"It's been a lot of man hours, a lot of time and effort, putting this community partnership together in Arden Hills. And we are here to show support to the governor for his leadership, for senators," Cooke said.

With a number of issues still undecided, like location and funding sources, Cooke said people need to know the consequences of not getting a stadium and the possibility of losing the team.

"We are a big state, we are a successful state, and we deserve four major sports team in the state," Cooke said.
