Hundreds Attend Memorial For Murdered UW-Stout Student
MENOMONIE, Wis. (WCCO) -- Hundreds of people turned out Thursday night for a memorial service for a UW-Stout student.
Hussain Alnahdi, 24, died after someone attacked him early Sunday morning outside Toppers Pizza in downtown Menomonie.
On Thursday night, faculty and friends held a service in his honor. Many spoke about his friendly smile and outgoing personality. Alnahdi was born and raised in Saudi Arabia and came to the U.S. to go to college. He was majoring in business.
His roommates, and many others close to him, lit candles and talked about how much Alnahdi meant to them.
"He never cared who you were or where you came from," one speaker said at the service. "He treated us all as family. Now that he's gone, we'll have to work to keep that family together."
A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
