Survey Says Our Mosquito Problem May Be Overstated
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Many joke mosquitoes are Minnesota's state bird, but it turns out our mosquito problem may not be that bad, at least comparatively.
Pest control company Orkin says mosquitoes are the worst in the southeast part of the country.
Atlanta is ranked worst for mosquitoes in the nation, followed by Chicago and Washington D.C.
The Twin Cities rank all the way down at 19th on their list, down four spots from their previous survey.
The rankings are based on the amount of customers the company served last year, not necessarily number of mosquitoes in the state.
Other cities that rank higher on the mosquito annoyance scale than Minneapolis-St. Paul include Boston, Nashville, Detroit, Miami, and Dallas.
