Wander Minnesota: Election Night Events In The Twin Cities

It's been a long haul to get here, but next Tuesday is (finally) Election Day. Given the unusually high interest in this year's election, it's not surprising that there are several public events that night. Here are some places to join the crowds monitoring the returns.

The Theater of Public Policy at Bryant Lake Bowl starts at 7 p.m., and while the name may sound frightfully serious, this event will have plenty of comedy. Bonus: Bowling.

Minnesota Monthly magazine is the sponsor of Minnesota Tonight's 2016 Election Party, starting at 7 p.m. at the Brave New Workshop. The event is billed as a Daily Show-style news event, focused on issues affecting Minnesota. Comedy, music, camaraderie.

The Herkimer Pub offers an Election Night viewing party, complete with red, blue, and green drinks.

In St. Paul, the Amsterdam Bar and Hall is hosting an Election Night party with food, drink, trivia, and nail-biting.

Speaking of drinks, both the Minneapolis and Mall of America locations of the FireLake Grill have drinks in honor of the two leading candidates: The Last Word (for Trump) and the Southern Sunset (for Clinton). Available through Nov. 8, but on Nov. 9, the restaurants will have a special "Thank Goodness the Campaign is Over" set of happy hour specials.

Birchwood Cafe will open up its community room once the polls close and partner with NOC to provide election night coverage and commentary. (We suggest the savory waffle to distract you from the early returns.)

St. Paul's Dark Horse Bar & Eatery is hosting an Election Night viewing party. Wine, dine, and gloat/commiserate.
