The Good Life For Less: Local Deals 'Delivered'
Are you like me? Do you love the idea of shopping local, supporting local businesses and buying products from your hometown ... but sometimes, price wins out and you've got to order online?
Buying local, of course, puts your money right back into your area's economy -- thereby helping provide jobs, keeping our market strong, and giving back so our state's future stays bright.
One place that fits the bill is Dealstork.com. It was shared with me recently by my fellow WCCO blogger Crystal Grobe.
At first glance, Dealstork has the same feel as the Groupons and LivingSocials of the world, but this one is different. It's homegrown right in Minnesota.
Dealstork is locally owned and operated and was designed to support Twins Cities businesses and products.
Everything from dining deals to spa sessions to theater tickets might be listed as their daily "delivery."
I know buying local is something that I want to do more of, and the Twin Cities really is one of those places with many opportunities to do that. So as I'm learning about them, I hope to share more ways to do that this summer.
Know of any other local deals? Post them in the comment section to share with other 'Good Lifers'!
