Authorities had limited information as to what led up to the incident. Police Lieutenant Gwen Gunter said someone had stopped to get gas, there was an altercation and someone was shot.

Gunter also said another person on the scene was assaulted. Both victims were transported to Hennepin County Medical Center. The victim who was shot is currently listed in critical condition.

No suspects are currently in custody, and anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Minneapolis Police.

About 30 minutes later, at least one person was shot in downtown Minneapolis in the area of 1st Ave. and 3rd St., right around bar closing time. Gunter said it didn't appear during the initial investigation that the two incidents were related.
