Higher Speed Limits Coming To 5,000 Miles Of Minnesota Highway
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- After a five year study, the Minnesota Department of Transportation is raising speeds on many two-lane state highways from 55 mph to 60 mph.
MnDOT studied 7,000 miles of highway and decided to raise speeds on 77 percent of them.
Most of the new signs are already up. The rest will be up by spring.
The new speed limit does not go into effect until the new sign is up.
