Student Attacked With Knife On Robbinsdale Cooper School Bus

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A student has been taken hospitalized after being attacked by a suspect with a knife on a Robbinsdale Cooper school bus Tuesday, according to a school official.

Robbinsdale Area Schools spokeswoman Latisha Gray says the fight occurred on a bus as students were being dismissed. The victim was injured by a knife and then taken to the hospital.

New Hope police said school resource officers stopped the attack and took three people into custody.

The Robbinsdale school district said the victim wasn't enrolled at Robbinsdale Cooper.

The extent of the student's injury is unknown but believed to be non-life threatening.

It's unclear if the suspects are students or not.

"We are committed to a safe learning environment for all of our students," Robbinsdale Cooper's principal, Frank Herman, wrote in a message sent home to families Tuesday. "School will resume as normal tomorrow."
