Red Cross Hosts Blood Drive For Former Kylie's Kid

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The thought of donating blood or bone marrow can sound scary, but it's knowing that you can help save someone's life by doing so that makes it so rewarding.

Back in November, Kylie featured Zach Elsenpeter on Kylie's Kids.

When Zach was just two weeks old he suffered from kidney failure, and at 11 months old he had his first kidney transplant. By the time he was 11 he had already gone through more than 60 surgeries, including another kidney transplant.

Now 12, Zach will be honored at an American Red Cross blood drive on May 12.

It's the 5th annual Blood/Bone Marrow drive in honor of Zachary at the Andover Community Center YMCA.

It goes from 12:30 until 6:30 p.m.
