Recycling To Be Mandatory At Mpls. Businesses
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A new ordinance going into effect Thursday will require businesses in Minneapolis to offer the option to recycle.
Furthermore, the ordinance going into effect on Sept. 1 also includes the requirement that all non-residential properties also recycle.
"The new ordinance supports our City goal around a healthy environment and sustainable future," said Minneapolis city councilmember Elizabeth Glidden.
The ordinance is an expansion of current requirements, which target residential properties.
The council set a goal to increase the city's recycling by 50 by the year 2013.
