Ravens WR Rashod Bateman arrested on family violence charges in Georgia

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman is facing multiple charges, including family violence, following a June incident in Georgia.

According to official booking documents from the Walton County Sheriff's Office, Bateman was booked on June 3 on misdemeanor charges of reckless conduct, battery, and criminal property damage.

The Ravens issued a statement to WJZ acknowledging the situation.

"We are aware of the situation involving Rashod and have been in direct communication with him. We notified the league office and have been cooperating throughout the process," Chad Steele, Sr., Vice President of Communications, Ravens, said. "As this is a pending legal matter, we will not have further comment."

According to charging documents obtained by TMZ, Bateman allegedly smashed the windows of his baby mama's vehicle while his 3-month-old was inside.

The victim allegedly reported the incident to the Walton County Sheriff's Office around 6 a.m. on June 3. Bateman surrendered to officers that same day.

Officials say Bateman used an object to break the windshield and driver's side window of his baby mother's 2021 Benz.

The shattered glass allegedly caused multiple small lacerations to the victim's face, which were visible to officers during the report, along with multiple contusions to the face.

According to official documents, Bateman's 3-month-old was sitting in a car seat in the back row of the car.

Two weeks after a no-contact order was issued, the alleged victim wanted to have contact with Bateman, so the court removed the no-contact order. However, Bateman is still not to have any violent contact with her.

Bateman is reportedly only allowed to see the mother of his child once he completes a class.

"It is unfortunate that a personal family situation has been taken completely out of context for sensational reasons. We will let the court process play out, and the facts will come out at that time," Bateman's personal lawyer, Joran Siev, said in a statement to WJZ.
