End Of An Era: Production Stops On VCRs
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – It's true – VCRs are still being made. But, not for much longer.
Funai Electric of Japan said it will stop making video-cassette recorders this month.
It is believed to be the last VCR manufacturer in the world.
Funai started making them in1983.
At one point it was selling 15 million of them a year.
Last year, they sold just 750,000 VCR's, which still sounds like a lot.
