MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 10-year-old child is hospitalized after being hit and dragged by a vehicle Friday night in Minneapolis, says a police spokesperson.

The accident happened on the 3800 block of Fremont Avenue North sometime after 5 p.m.

The child was dragged for a little bit before the vehicle fled the scene.

Police say they are searching for the suspect vehicle. The child suffered non-life threatening injuries and is expected to survive.
