MOA To Host 'Footloose' Dance Contest, Stars
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (AP) -- It's time to kick off your Sunday shoes and compete in a "Footloose" dance contest at Mall of America.
"Footloose" stars Julianne Hough and Kenny Wormald and director Craig Brewer will be on hand to help determine the winning act.
The contest will be held Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 5, in the Bloomington's mall's rotunda. The first 50 acts to register at FootlooseMinneapolis@gmail.com will be eligible to compete.
Each act may consist of one to two dancers ages 16-25. Contestants will be asked to perform a one-minute, original routine to "Footloose" by various artists.
Non-dancers can receive wristbands for an autograph following the dance contest.
"Footloose" is a remake of the 1984 Kevin Bacon hit about a town that bans dancing. It opens Oct. 14.
