Police: Missing Girl Found In Minneapolis Man's Apartment

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- An Elko New Market girl who was reported missing on Saturday has been located in a Minneapolis man's apartment, according to police.

On Saturday at 11:30 p.m., the Elko New Market police received a call reporting the missing girl. An investigation revealed that the missing girl left her place of employment – Target in Lakeville – with an unidentified male driving a small silver-colored vehicle around 8 p.m. that day.

Law enforcement investigated and the man who picked up the girl was identified.

The man, a 21-year-old Minneapolis resident, was stopped and questioned by police on Monday. Police say the man then admitted that the missing girl was in his apartment. The girl was soon discovered unharmed in the apartment.

Police say the girl said she willingly left the Target store with the man. She was taken into custody and reunited with her parents later Monday evening.

There are no charges as of yet, but the case remains under investigation.
