1 injured when shooter opens fire at Minnetonka apartment building
Police are searching for a shooter who opened fire at an apartment building Thursday evening in Minnetonka, Minnesota.
It happened around 6:20 p.m. at a complex off Highway 101 and Covington Road, about a half-mile west of Purgatory Park.
A 36-year-old Minneapolis man was charged with second-degree attempted murder, second-degree assault and illegally possessing a firearm, according to a criminal complaint filed in Hennepin County on Friday.
Charges allege the man fired several shots through his ex-girlfriend's apartment window, striking her in the buttocks.
The victim told police she had received a FaceTime call from the suspect shortly before the shooting. She said the two had an "ongoing dispute," and the suspect hung up the call when he realized he was being recorded by her, charges say.
Court documents show the suspect has previously been convicted of assault in the third and second degrees.
