Temperatures drop Friday night; snow to fall in southern Minnesota on Saturday

Temperatures will drop to the teens in Minnesota on Friday night following a snow system in the Twin Cities that impacted Friday morning's commute.

Areas in the northern part of the state could feel single-digit temperatures on Friday night. 

Temperatures on Saturday will top out in the teens with single-digit wind chills.

A winter weather advisory will be in effect for southern Minnesota from 12 p.m. to midnight on Saturday. Snow will push into the southwestern region of the state in the afternoon before moving east, mainly across southern Minnesota. 

The metro may see between 1 and 2 inches of accumulation by Sunday morning, while southern Minnesota could see between 3 and 5 inches.

High temperatures on Sunday will be in the low teens.

Monday will feature snow flurries and temperatures in the 20s. Temps will be in the upper-20s on Tuesday, with a wintry mix that will continue into Wednesday.

Temperatures drop again toward the end of the work week, with a chance for snow on Thursday.
