Minnesota Weather: March Comes In Like A Snowy Lion

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Good riddance to February -- the fourth-snowiest month on record in Minnesota. Hello to meteorological spring, which begins Friday! Can someone let Mother Nature know?

Snow will first push into western Minnesota, starting in the southwest corner, around 8:30 a.m., and will hit the Twin Cities metro by lunch time. It will keep dropping through the evening commute, which will be a slow, slushy one. Below-average temperatures will be the norm across the state Friday, ranging from the mid-teens to the low-20s.

The snow will exit the state by 9 p.m., with accumulation totals between 1 to 4 inches for much of the state. And then comes the cold. We're going to experience below-average temperatures for the next couple weeks.

Lows from Friday until next Friday will range from the low single digits to the low below-zero double digits. Some slight relief won't likely arrive until the week of March 12.
