Minn. Duluth Beats W. Michigan 4-1
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) — Jack Connolly had three assists to extend his points-scoring streak to 16 games and Minnesota Duluth beat Western Michigan 4-1 Friday in men's college hockey.
The top-ranked Bulldogs (13-3-3) extended their nation-best unbeaten streak to 15 games (12-0-3). They haven't lost since a 5-4 setback to Minnesota on October 15.
Eighth-ranked Western Michigan (10-6-5) scored first on Chase Bailey's goal at 12:09 of the first period.
But the Bulldogs tied it on J.T. Brown's second-period goal and third-period goals by Travis Oleksuk, Joe Basaraba and Jake Hendrickson.
Kenny Reiter made 26 saves for the Bulldogs, while Frank Slubowki stopped 24 shots — half of those in the second period — for the Broncos.
UMD is 3-0 all-time in the series.
