Man Accused In Fatal Fishing Dispute Charged With Jumping Bail
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The teenager accused of stabbing a Wisconsin fisherman along the St. Croix River in April has been arrested for jumping bail.
According to Polk County records, 19-year-old Levi Acre-Kendall was charged Thursday with two felony counts of jumping bail after sending messages on Twitter. He was previously charged with killing Peter Kelly..
On April 14, Kelly of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin was fatally stabbed after an altercation with a group of men along the St. Croix River. He left behind a wife and five children.
Under terms of his bail, Acre-Kendall is not allowed to have contact with the friends he was with during the deadly stabbing. But Acre-Kendall's Twitter account is followed by those friends, who told investigators they saw the tweets.
The charges state that Acre-Kendall started sending Tweets out, including one on May 7 that read: "If you are praying for me, please keep the Kelly family in mind as well, I never intended for this to happen and I wish it never did."
Another tweet from May 8 particularly upset the Kelly family, according to the complaint. It read: "Going to Chipotle to gain back 15 pounds I lost."
Acre-Kendall was taken into custody in Isanti County on a warrant issued in Polk County.
