Jefferson H.S. Junior To Compete In Nat'l Gymnastics Championship

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A junior at Jefferson High School in Bloomington will be competing in a national gymnastics championship in May, according to school officials.

School officials say Matthew Jorgenson qualified for the national competition after winning his second state title at the Minnesota State Championship and also placing in the top 12 at the Regional Championship in Nebraska. He also earned an academic all-state award.

The Men's Junior Olympic National Championship will be held May 4 through May 8 in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Jorgenson will be competing in the All Around category, which includes high bar, rings, pommel horse, vault, floor exercise and parallel bars.
