Twin Cities Honor Flight Takes Minnesota Veterans To D.C.
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Several Minnesota veterans have something cool to talk about Monday.
The Twin Cities Honor Flight took 78 veterans to Washington D.C. on Saturday. They flew out early that morning, and didn't return until 10 p.m. that night.
Honor Flight brings these men and women to the memorials built in their honor. For many, it's the first and only time they will visit the United States Capitol in their lifetime.
Almost 150,000 vets around the country have made the trip since the Honor Flight started in 2005.
There are fewer than one-million World War Two veterans still alive, of the 16-million Americans who served.
