High Court Tosses GOP Lawmaker Residency Dispute

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota's Supreme Court has dismissed a voter's call to have Rep. Bob Barrett removed from the November ballot over his residency.

Valerie Mondor, a voter from Barrett's central Minnesota district connected to the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, had petitioned the court to toss Barrett from the election.

Mondor presented photos of his empty home and affidavits from neighbors as evidence that the two-term lawmaker actually lived outside the district. But she withdrew her petition after a court referee said last week there wasn't enough evidence to prove Mondor's claim.

Barrett contends he lives there.

The high court formally dismissed the case Monday.
