Restraining Order Haults Demolition Of St. Paul Fire Station
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – There's opposition to a plan to demolish St. Paul's oldest public building.
A local developer wants to tear down the old fire station on the corner of Grand Avenue and Leech Street to make way for a new hotel.
The fire station has been there since 1872.
A group not happy about those plans is trying to save the building.
The neighborhood association filed a restraining order, which a judge issued on Monday, halting the demolition.
