Wis. Father Charged With Holding Baby In Busy Intersection

COTTAGE GROVE, Wis. (AP) -- A man accused of holding his 1-year-old daughter in the middle of a busy intersection in Cottage Grove has been released on bond.

Thirty-six-year-old Win Thor, of Kimberly, is charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, obstruction and disorderly conduct. A criminal complaint says Thor held the child around the neck as police tried to take the girl from him Sunday.

Thor said he would die before getting out of the street with the girl. The complaint says a Dane County sheriff's deputy struck Thor in the face, giving police a chance to grab the girl.

Thor appeared in court Wednesday, was released on bond and ordered not to have unsupervised contact with his daughter. Online court records do no list an attorney for Thor.
