Farmers Warned Of Building Scam With Minn. Link

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- The Nebraska Farm Bureau and state attorney general are warning farmers to be wary of a business that promises fabricated outbuildings but never delivers.

Attorney General Jon Bruning says one of the victims paid $15,000 to Fargo, N.D.-based Quality Steel Buildings for a building he never got.

Quality Steel Buildings also does business as Pioneer Building Systems, which was incorporated in Minnesota. Numbers were not listed for the businesses, nor for owner Dennis Burton.

Burton's businesses have run into trouble before. Last year, he was sued by the Minnesota attorney general for charging $260,000 for buildings he never delivered to farmers. In North Dakota, Burton agreed in 2008 to pay consumers $300,000 for deceptive business practices.
