Threat leads to early dismissal at Elk River High School Tuesday, no danger found, police say
Police in Elk River, Minnesota, say a potential bomb threat prompted students to be sent home early Tuesday morning, but they found no threat while searching the school.
Elk River police were alerted of the potential threat around 8:43 a.m.
Students were released from Elk River High School at 10:45 a.m. "out of an abundance of caution," according to ISD 728 district leaders.
Police conducted a protected sweep of the school using K-9 officers. Authorities are investigating the source of the threat.
All after school activities have been canceled for the day.
