1 arrested following Eagan apartment standoff, police say
Police in the southern Twin Cities suburb of Eagan say an "isolated incident" that prompted them to ask the public to avoid part of a residential area on Monday "has been resolved safely."
The Eagan Police Department says officers were called to the 4100 block of Rahn Road at 8 a.m. on the report of a "male causing a disturbance in a hallway."
Police say the male had a "blunt object" and made threats to several people before barricading himself inside his apartment. He was taken into custody without incident after four hours of negotiations.
"This was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the greater community," police said.
Further details on the person, including their age, have not been released.
The investigation into the incident continues.
