Celebrate The Season With #GivingTuesday

MINNEAPOLIS (WCOC) – Most Americans are familiar with "Black Friday," "Small Business Saturday" and "Cyber Monday," retail events that now seem to kick off the holiday season.

But now, a relatively new event is coming into the spotlight - #GivingTuesday.

For four years, #GivingTuesday has helped promote the power of giving through social media and collaboration.

Held on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, it kicks off the holiday season with a major giving event.

This year, CaringBridge is part of the organizations joining in the #GivingTuesday event.

The Founder and CEO of CaringBridge Sona Mehring hopes that people take this day to heart and help all the people in need that have used the site to share their story and gain resources.
