Baby found safe after man steals car with infant inside from Minneapolis day care parking lot
Minneapolis police say a baby has been reunited with their mother after a man stole a car with the infant inside from a day care parking lot Tuesday evening.
The car was reported stolen on Plymouth Avenue North around 8:10 p.m., police say. They used city cameras, license plate readers, drones and other squad cars to search for the 3-month-old.
Authorities say they were working with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for an AMBER Alert but the child was found before one could be issued.
Police found the stolen car near the 1500 block of Bryant Avenue North around 9:20 p.m. The baby was safe inside the car.
No one has been arrested, and police say they are still investigating.
