Apple Valley Man Fixes Bikes For A Cause
APPLE VALLEY, Minn. (WCCO) - Dozens of people will be wheeling around town this summer with smiles on their faces, knowing they helped kids just by buying their bikes.
For the last three years, Rick Anderson has spent his winter fixing up donated bikes.
Rick cleans them up, makes adjustments and sells them out of his Apple Valley home.
"A lot of happy people. You see the smiles on people's faces, they get a new bike, money goes to Kids 'n Kinship, and I enjoy doing it," said Anderson.
The money raised goes to a mentoring program in Dakota County called Kids 'n Kinship.
He says he's already donated more than $14 thousand to the program.
Rick says he developed his passion for fixing bikes when he worked Schwinn when he was younger.
