Sheriff: At Least 6 Injured In Stearns County Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Wintry road conditions are being blamed for a three-car crash that injured at least six people Friday night in Stearns County.

The sheriff's office says the crash happened just before 9:30 p.m. on County Road 75 at the Sauk River Bridge in St. Joseph Township.

Investigators say a Toyota 4Runner travelling west on CR 75 spun out on the bridge, crossed the median and hit a Volkswagen Jetta.

The 4Runner then continued to spin, hitting a Chevy Malibu's front driver's side before ending up on its passenger side on the median.

The driver of the 4Runner, 17-year-old Autumn Saxon, was ejected from the vehicle and was later found by a passerby. She was taken to an area hospital, and her condition has not been released.

All five passengers of the Chevy Malibu were also taken to an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries: driver Jeffrey Bursch, 35; Christopher Hoppe, 33; Tracy Bursch, 27; Zachary Bursch, 15; and 14-month-old Oliver Bursch.

The driver of the Volkswagen, 32-year-old Kyle Knutson, was not injured.
