4 Things To Know: Obama's Final Budget Proposal, Super Bowl Viewership, Johnny Manziel & More

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- From President Obama's final budget proposal to the dissipation of New Year's resolutions, here's a look at the top four stories from Feb. 9, 2016.

Obama's Final Budget Proposal

President Barack Obama is unveiling his 8th and final budget Tuesday.

The $4 trillion proposal includes doubling funding for clean energy research, increased investments in clean transportation and a $1 billion effort to address the nation's opioid epidemic.

The announcement comes as the deficit has started to creep up above the half-trillion dollar mark.

Manziel's Ex-Girlfriend Affidavit Released Online

The ex-girlfriend of Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel said he hit her so hard during an argument she lost hearing in one hear. The details were revealed in an affidavit published online Monday.

Now, a domestic violence investigation is underway.

Manziel is expected to be cut by the Browns next month.

The Heisman Trophy winner's career has been tainted by headlines about his drinking and other personal issues.

Dissipation Of New Year's Resolutions

Today is the day those New Year's resolutions to exercise more often drop off.

The decline in gym visits around this time is so predictable that Gold's Gym has dubbed it the "fitness cliff."

For the past few years it's been announcing exactly when it will happen based on past data. Anytime Fitness reports a similar pattern.

Super Bowl 50 Can't Clinch Record Viewership

Nearly 112-million viewers saw Denver's victory over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

It's the 3rd most watched event in U.S. Television history, according to Nielsen.

That means last year's game between the Patriots and the Seahawks keeps the record with more than 114-million viewers.

Viewership records from the Super Bowl have now been set in six of the last seven years.
