4 Things To Do Today From Saturday, May 7, 2016
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Natalie Nyhus and Mike Augustyniak covered several exciting events going on this weekend on WCCO Saturday Morning – and here are the four that we think are atop the must-see-must-do list!
1. Let's go fishing, Minnesota! Saturday you can angle for walleye, northern pike, bass and lake trout. Anyone age 16 and older must first buy a license. Gov. Mark Dayton is on Big Sandy Lake Saturday morning. Hopefully he has a little luck! The DNR has everything you need to know about the opener and some of the best lakes on their website.
2. Bring your dog for a beer! The 2nd annual Pints and Pups event is at Boom Island Brewing. Seven local rescue organizations as well as local vendors will be there. A portion of the brewers' proceeds will be donated to the rescue organizations as well. The event is Saturday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
3. The champions are back in action! The Minnesota Lynx will hope to make it four titles in six seasons this summer. Game 1 of their 20th season is Saturday night at Target Center. They will take on the Phoenix Mercury who won the title in 2014. Gametime is at 6:30 p.m. Tickets range from $36 to $105. There will be a pre-game party from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at City Works on Hennepin Avenue.
14 This weekend is the 5th annual GrillFest event. Taste your way through grilled food favorites and also sample summer wines and specialty beers. You can also get grilling tips from the barbeque pros with more than 100 vendors on hand. GrillFest is at CHS Field in St. Paul from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. You must be 21 and older. Tickets are $50 at the door.
