4 Things To Do Today From Saturday, June 18, 2016
MINNNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Another hot weekend is here, but that doesn't mean you should hole up in an air-conditioned bunker! Head outside with these four events that Natalie Nyhus and Mike Augustyniak covered on WCCO Saturday Morning!
1. Looking for a great deal? Check out the NEighbors Garage Sale weekend in northeast Minneapolis. There are plenty of great old and new things to see and buy, of course! It's spread out amongst various locations in the northeast.
2. Let's go back in time for the 43rd annual Back to the Fifties weekend at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. The event showcases more than 12,000 street rods, customs, classics and restored vehicles. It goes from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. night. Tickets are $10 for adults.
3. Float like a butterfly! See hundreds of them from Africa, Asia and North, Central and South America as they fly freely among tropical plants in a lush garden environment at the Como Zoo. You can witness the butterflies as they change from crawling caterpillars into beautiful winged creatures. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The exhibit is free.
4. And it's a weekend of art and music on the Minneapolis Riverfront. The Stone Arch Bridge Festival features 250 artists, four performance stages for live music, family art activities, a car show and more. Today they'll also hold the Beer Sampler, that's from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. More than 50 local acts will take part in the event this year. And the festival is free!
