4 Injured In Anoka Co. Car Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Four people were injured after a two-vehicle crash in Coon Rapids early Saturday morning.

According to police, the accident occurred around 2:12 a.m. at the intersection of Cook Creek Blvd NW and 131st Avenue NW.

Police said a Subaru Impreza driven by a 19-year-old Coon Rapids man was traveling northbound through the intersection when it collided with a Ford Explorer.

The driver of the Ford Explorer, a 38-year-old Andover woman, was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

The 19-year-old man sustained minor injuries.

Two passengers in the Subaru were also injured. A 17-year-old woman sustained minor injuries and a 20-year-old man sustained critical injuries. Both were taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Upon preliminary investigation, police say speed and alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

A power outage was also caused in the area due to the crash.

The incident is currently under investigation.
