2 More Flu-Related Deaths Last Week In Minnesota

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) — Minnesota health officials say that another two people have died of flu-related causes this season.

The deaths were confirmed during the 15th week of the flu season, from April 7 through April 13. Since last October, there have now been 190 flu-related deaths in the state.

The Minnesota Department of Health said 17 people were hospitalized with laboratory-confirmed influenza during week 15, bringing the season's total  to 3,061 people.

The weekly rate has sharply dropped off since peaking in January, according to the health department's figures

No schools and no nursing homes reported confirmed outbreaks of the flu during the 15th week.
