A Golden Valley man was found guilty Tuesday of killing a young Minneapolis couple while driving drunk at over 100 mph in 2003. Philip Scott Bertelsen, 56, was convicted of criminal vehicular homicide in connection with the deaths of Brandy Banks-Sutta and Melvin Jones on Nov. 3, 2013.
Victims of alleged sexual abuse by clergy in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis have filed more than 400 claims against the archdiocese in federal bankruptcy court, according to attorneys for victims and the archdiocese. The claims were filed by Monday, the deadline imposed by the bankruptcy court.
The Rice County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help to find a missing Ohio woman. A deputy found an abandoned car Monday night in a parking lot at Shagger Park on Cannon Lake. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources announced a change in fishing regulations on Mille Lacs Lake Tuesday in hopes that it will bring more bass fishing tournaments to the area. The rule change will allow anglers to sort bass that are shorter than 18 inches and keep the largest fish.
